3. Cultural Youth Exchange to Yangjiang, China - April 2025 L2A Wed 31 Jul 11:10am GMR
  The Nelson Branch of the NZ China Friendship Society is again arranging a student exchange with Guangdong Liangyang Senior High School in Yangjiang, Nelson's second sister-city in China. For: Eight Y12 or Yr 13 (2025) Nelson and Richmond students and two accompanying adults.

Timing: April school holidays 2025 for 12 days including travel time.

Accommodation: Students will be billeted in the school dormitories during the school week, and in a hotel during the weekend.

Students will attend classes for 5/6 days.

Funding: NZCFS Nelson branch will cover some funding, subsidising airfares to the value of $1000 per student. Personal costs are likely to be around $2500 to cover travel insurance, gifts, and some travel costs. Group fundraising can be arranged.

Applications: As this is a cultural exchange, applications are sought from senior students with a particular interest in the arts, such as music, dance, film, fine arts, drama, Kapahaka.

Return exchange: It is hoped that when there is a reciprocal exchange the selected students will be able to homestay Yangjiang students.

1. General Ball Tickets AST
  Friendly reminder that Ball tickets need to be paid for by Friday 26 July. There are approximately 20 extra tickets for students that meet the 85% attendance criteria. Please see Mrs Scott if you have any questions.

 
 
1. General Confiscated items in the deans office AWL
  There are a number of items in the deans office which have been removed from students ie hoodies and trackies. If you have not collected yours, can you please do so this week. As next week they will be donated.

 
 
1. General Study room by the Library is out of use for 3 weeks GMR
  For the first three weeks of term 3 the study room next to the library will become a classroom for the new international students and a group from Japan. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. Mr Millar.

 
 
1. General The.Sushi.Spot DHD
  Hello everyone, We are a year 12 business studies group selling sushi on Monday the 29th. Our different flavors are crispy chicken, salmon, salmon & cream cheese, and veggie (veggie is only available for pre-orders). Our prices range from $5.99 to $8 for 6 pieces each; we accept cash and EFTPOS. To pre-order you can either go to our Instagram account (@tss.the.sushi.spot) or find one of our posters around the school to scan the QR code. 1. General Yrs 11 - 13 - Long term device loans from the library CHD
  The library now offers a select number of devices available for loan. These devices are specifically intended for year 11 to 13's who have upcoming assessments that span an extended period. Swing by the library and chat with Mrs. Winslade to loan a device out.

  Air New Zealand are holding an information evening in Christchurch for anyone interested in becoming a pilot or engineer - see the poster in the covered way. As it is during term time and would be hard for students to attend, we have a link to the 2023 presentation for anyone interested in these careers - come to the Careers Office for details.
