1. General 9 Square Competition AST
  9 SQUARE COMPETITION!!!!! TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY next week at LUNCH. HUUUGE opportunity to earn Waka points, spot prizes and have some fun. Bring your friends and get ready to battle it out on the quad (above the canteen).

 
 
1. General uniforms and cold weather RTL
  A reminder now that the weather is becoming cooler, that only Nayland College hoodies may be worn at school, and on the way to and from school (plain black hoodies or any other type of hoodie is not permitted).
You may wear a plain black long-sleeved top (e.g. polyprop, merino / cotton) under your uniform, but without a hood.
You may wear a plain black long sleeved jacket (no branding / very minimal subtle branding) for additional warmth, outside.

 
 
1. General Yr 12 Outward Bound Opportunity AST
  We have two fully funded scholarships for who otherwise available for Outward Bound for the Tau Ihu Course happening 31st July - 20th August. You must be in Yr 12 and wouldn't otherwise be able to afford to attend. This 21 day course is about pushing students to their limits and finding out what you are truly capable of. It aims to build courage and resilience, experience success as a member of a team, identify your values, develop an appreciation for the natural environment and experience being of service to others. If you are interested, please email Mrs Scott (alice.scott@nayland.school.nz) by Friday 17 May.

3. Cultural Labo In-Japan Homestay Program 2024-2025 GMR
  Labo In-Japan Homestay Program 2024-2025
This program is a must for students who are interested in travelling, meeting new people, and have an interest in Japan.  Students do not have to be studying Japanese or be able to speak Japanese, however it would be an advantage.  The program does require a level of resilience and positive attitude.

Key points about the program
·         Applications close Friday 31st May 2024
·         Departs Thursday 12th December 2024
·         Returns Sunday 5th January 2025
·         $7,560 per student, including return flights on Air New Zealand, accommodation throughout, all meals, 3 night winter youth camp, homestay with a host brother or sister and the support of the Labo International Exchange Foundation.

 
 
4. Careers Victoria Uni Information Evening AHS
  If you are considering studying at Victoria Uni for next year, ensure you register to attend their open evening on Thursday 23 May 5.30-8pm at Rutherford Hotel, Nelson. Learn the ins and out of studying in the capital. Register now via the QR code on the poster in the Covered Way, or Block 1 or 2 noticeboards.

 
 
5. Sports Boys Football BCR
  Football Trials for the Boys 1st XI next Tuesday 14th May after school on the top field. See Brendan in the Sports Office if you can't attend.
