| The Senior Ball is on Saturday August 10. Tickets are on sale now and there is a LIMITED number. Once sold out there is not an opportunity to create more space. Yr 13 students who did not meet the attendance criteria should have had a meeting last week if they want to attend. See Mrs Scott by Thursday if you have not done this. Yr 12 students who do not meet the attendance criteria need to meet Thursday in the Hall between times of 9.20 - 10.10 or 3.30-4.30. Check with your tutor teacher if you are unsure about your attendance. |

| CACTUS will be running in Term 3 2024. Collect your nomination form from the International Office in Block 2. Nominations close on Friday 14 June. If you have any questions, please talk with Gavin Millar or email gavin.millar@nayland.school.nz. CACTUS is a programme founded on basic army training. However, participants find there is much more to CACTUS than simply physical training. There are also opportunities to build self-confidence, leadership skills, communication skills and socialise with a wide range of people from all walks of life. Participants from Nelson College, Nelson College for Girls, Nayland College and Youth Nelson train three mornings a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) for eight weeks to build key attributes as individuals and as a collective group. Each session begins at 05:55am at the Nelson College for Girls gym. The course is run by an instructor, who is typically either a past or current member of the New Zealand armed forces. THURSDAY: Treat yourself to a FREE hot chocolate before school at the covered way by the hall 8.50-10 or until they run out.
